6/28/15 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Tuesday

by Katie (Jenny Craig 2009 Poster Girl) 28. June 2014 19:16

I'm trying to kick up the intensity and frequency of my exercise.  I'm so close to being in the 120's and reaching my goal weight.  It will be nice to just be finished with the program and eat the foods that I want.  I do have mixed feelings about it though.  One reason I love doing Jenny Craig is because it's so easy to just "pop in" a microwaveable meal.  During the summer it's fine and I don't mind making meals.  But, once school hits, especially now that I have a baby my time is limited.  I just want to be with my son when I get off work.  We'll see how maintenance goes - I have a feeling I won't reach it until the end of the summer anyway!

Yesterday I went on a 2 mile walk with the dogs and my son.  In the evening I had my second riding lesson.  I was posting a lot better than the first time my instructor had me try it.  She had me doing a lot of different combinations in the ring.  I have a good handle on the figure eight's and serpentine but at the end, just for fun, she had me try the pattern she does for her riding/shooting combination classes.  It was pretty tough!  Since I'm a beginner I'm still getting the feel for posting.  It was really hard for me to post (keep my balance on the tight turns), lead the horse, listen to directions, and comprehend the pattern my instructor wanted me to go in!  Again, at the end of our session I was covered in sweat!  This time I really seemed to have a better grasp of posting - I could really feel it in my abs!  Hopefully this helps tighten those tummy muscles since that baby belly just won't seem to go away!

It just feels nice to have found what may be a hobby again.  I was in tons of extracurriculars as a kid but I think being involved in something as an adult, too, makes me a more interesting person.  I have a new found excitement and it's fun to have this in common with my husband.  After my lessons we "debrief" how it all went.  I'm really happy with learning something new that I enjoy!
