If your body is extremely sensitive to sodium like mine has been you need to be mindful of every "free" condiment, drink, mint, or piece of sugar-free gum. This is annoying but hopefully your body will even out; if it doesn't, it's not the end of the world. It just means you would have to consume these things sparingly. Ketchup and spray butter contain huge amounts of sodium so be especially careful of these. The reason I'm mentioning this is because even diet pop has been affecting me since I had my son. My body seems to be coming back around but I still am more cautious about my sodium intake. It appears at any grocery or gas station I can find the lowest amount of sodium in diet pop is 40mg. that new Sun Drop has the highest amounts of sodium in almost all the pops I compared! But...if you shop at Meijer's their brand is only 10mg. Huge difference. I just bought Diet Cream Soda, Diet Root Beer, and Diet Soda. Yum! Extremely low in sodium and cheap.
